ULTRAPETALA1 INTERACTING FACTOR 1 controls floral meristem activities in Arabidopsis

Researchers at the Cell Physiology & Plant Laboratory have isolated a new transcription factor that physically interacts with the ULTRAPETALA1 factor which regulates the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells at the apex of plants. This factor they called ULT1 INTERACTING FACTOR1 establishes a link between chromatin and transcription factors for the recognition and regulation of specific developmental genes.
