Profile
Giovanni Finazzi has published more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals.
His main interest is understanding the function and the regulation of the photosynthetic machinery in vivo. During his career, he has focused on the modulation of photosynthetic electron flow and carbon assimilation, the mechanisms of light acclimation, on the regulation of ion homeostasis in the chloroplast and on the dynamics of energetic interactions between the chloroplast and the mitochondria in plants and green algae.
More recently he has focused on the physiology of photosynthesis in marine organisms, pinpointing their molecular response to nutrient and light stress.
