When symbiosis boosts photosynthesis and carbon storage in Microalgae


​​​​​​​​​​​​ Researchers at CEA-Irig/LPCV/Photosymbiosis​ have shown that microalgae living in symbiosis* with their host perform better than when they live on their own. Their photosynthesis is stimulated, allowing them to fix more CO2 and produce more reserves in the form of starch and lipids. These findings, published in Proc Natl Acad Sci (PNAS) USA offer new insights into the mechanisms that regulate exchanges between symbiotic partners.​
