Draw inspiration from plants to better control our energy and material flows

Living organisms have developed regulatory systems of their metabolic pathways, which they need to survive. Why not learn from these mechanisms to improve our control of material flow and energy? It is in this context we have developed a mathematical model representing the amino acid biosynthetic pathways in the plant Arabidopsis. This model was used to reproduce the measurements made with whole plants, thus demonstrating its accuracy. Simulations were then allowed to qualitatively and quantitatively understand the operation of such a control network.
