Microtubules, polymerizing in the presence MAP65-4, create a network of long microtubule bundles in vitro (left image). The image on the right shows the location of MAP65-4 with the microtubules attached to chromosomal kinetochores (discontinuous line) at the beginning of anaphase (stable expression of MAP65-4 labeled with a fluorescent protein, GFP).
