We study the molecular mechanisms by which chromatin factors activate gene transcription in plants, following very precise spatio-temporal patterns. In particular, we would like to understand how, at corresponding loci, chromatin is brought from a repressed to an active state and is maintained and propagated through time and cell division in specific cell types.

We study how flower development is controlled at the transcriptional and chromatin levels. We focus in particular on the LEAFY and ULTRAPETALA1 proteins and use the development of flower as a model process to address general questions such as the interplay between transcription factors (TF) and chromatin remodeling proteins, the modeling of sequence specific DNA recognition by TF or the evolution of regulatory networks.
